HERCULES Project
HERCULES aim is to develop a 1 kW Organic Regenerative Fuel Cell (oRFC) for stationary energy storage applications, using sustainable materials.
Regenerative Fuel Cell (RFC)
The application of RFCs to the energy decarbonisation process will be highly beneficial to achieve the targets of the EU Green Deal.
RFCs are systems that use H2 on one side (fast reaction kinetics [H2 evolution, HER / H2 oxidation, HOR] and low Pt requirement) and an active redox species with fast kinetics in the liquid electrolyte, like the redox flow battery (RFB), merging the best of each technology in one.
